Sliding-scale Tuition

Thank you for your interest in Friends Center for Children. We believe high-quality early childhood education should be an option for all families, regardless of their financial status. At Friends Center, families pay based on their income. We have sliding-scale tuition, and we participate in School readiness Program and accept Care4Kids funding. We welcome and encourage all families to apply to Friends Center for Children.

Tuition

Tuition at Friends Center for Children is set annually. Currently, tuition is $22,000 per year for the Infant/Toddler program and $16,995 per year for the Preschool program. However, 88% of our families pay on a sliding-scale, with tuition adjusted based on annual gross income and family size. Friends Center is committed to ensuring that our program is financially accessible to each family and numerous funding sources help make that possible, including the School Readiness Program, Care4Kids, New Haven Day Care and generous supporters of our financial aid program.

? How do I know what our family will pay?

1. Application

Friend Center’s sliding-scale financial assistance is integrated into our application. The application will ask for your family’s annual gross income and family size. This will help us begin to determine your eligibility.

2. Enrollment Process

Once your application is received, you will continue the enrollment process to learn more about us, including site visits and a phone call with a current Friends Center family.

3. Additional Documentation

Once a space is available, we will send you a letter of acceptance and request additional financial documentation which will be used to finalize your family’s tuition.

4. Tuition Agreement

Friends Center will then send you a tuition agreement form with your family’s fee schedule, usually calculated as monthly payments.
