First Home, First Teacher: National Housing Convening

The inaugural First Home, First Teacher National Convening will celebrate the official grand opening of the fourth home in Friends Center for Children’s Teacher Housing Village, constructed through Yale School of Architecture’s Jim Vlock First Year Building Project. This will be the fifth home on this site — which will mark the completion of the first Teacher Housing Village in the country.

This milestone represents years of collaboration between Friends Center, Yale School of Architecture, generous community partners, and advocates who believe that supporting educators begins beyond the classroom. The convening will bring together leaders from across the country to explore innovative solutions for the early childhood workforce while celebrating what is possible when communities invest in those who care for children.
