Funds raised from the stroll help these partners serve families with young children throughout New Haven. Did you know Connecticut families are paying more for childcare than they are for housing? These childcare fees are well above the 7% household income cap recommended by economists and supported by Connecticut voters. AND…Did you know that Connecticut early childhood educators are making an average of $29,000 per year, which is an unsustainable income level and significantly below current public school salaries? Programs have to charge families more, pay teachers less OR we can come together as a community and show our support for early childhood education during the New Haven Family Stroll!
